Start Your Chiropractic Practice
We’re looking to build sustainable chiropractic centers for years to come.
Reach out to us at taruteam at gmail dot com. Let's chat further over a video call.
Our Focus
We don’t love the basic investment model of giving a bunch of money and loading the chiropractor with the burden of doing everything. So we're changing it. Goal is to help Chiropractors focus on great healthcare while we handle the rest. We’re two leading strategists in our field turned investors and created a better system. We put the details into this website. If any of it sounds interesting, please reach out. We’re currently interviewing chiropractors as we speak and looking to connect with more.
Our strategy
Here's a paper napkin sketch of what we want to build, how we want to do it, and who we're looking for
This, of course, is an oversimplified example meant to clearly illustrate our intentions and if you’d be interested in this style of growth.
- We make a partnership - Based on need, the deal, cost, etc. But you’re an owner, regardless of split
- We buy a practice together - We (the investors) will take 100% financial burden. We have cash ready to inject + willing to handle any potential financing needed. Like we said, we're looking to build sustainable practices...we're all in.
- Wait - you said buy a practice? Yep. this will be strategic, and something we discuss together. Your current boss is retiring? Maybe we can transition the business. You’re a diversified practitioner? Let’s look for a similar match. We like the acquisition model vs building from scratch because we can be profitable from day 1. Yes, transitional churn is a risk, but we will strategically work to limit it.
- You hit the ground running - you’ll be compensated by salary + ownership bonus to start. We want you focused on giving great healthcare, caring about the patients and community, and growing our loyal client list, not rent money.
- Earn more ownership equity - As we pay off debt, you get more ownership equity - simple as it sounds. Get the business healthy and you take more ownership
- Rinse & repeat - I can't stress this enough...our focus will be on chiropractic center #1. We cannot take our eye off the ball. We want to be rooted in the community, focused on great healthcare, and have a steady stream of happy clients. Growing into a second practice will be intentionally slow to ensure we're providing proper care and managing our office correctly. Once you feel comfortable with protocol, we feel comfortable with back office systems, and our client stream is consistent, you will start training associates who want to own their branch and build repeatable protocol. We buy another practice. You take ownership equity in every practice we own. And we continue to grow our partnership by focusing on our strengths. I'm going to talk more about why focusing on our strengths is so important in the next section.
- We get it. Not everyone wants to own and operate 3 different chiropractic centers. Someone might prefer to grow into fully owning their own shop. We applaud that. My father was a chiropractor for 36 years on the same street corner. We should all be inspired to run a practice half as impactful as his. So if we make a partnership, and you'd prefer to simply own your shop and not pursue anything further - no problem. We build in a "36" clause allowing all owners to buy up to 100% ownership stake in their office. We're getting ahead of ourselves, but our partnerships are meant to be better than a rigid LLC & less risky than a loan.
We want to be the best in two areas: Tremendous healthcare & sustainable growth. The secret? It's a two-person job.
Most SMB owners have to be everything to everyone. Ask any chiropractor. Most of their day is anything but providing healthcare. That doesn’t make any sense to us. Why would we have an MLB Allstar 3rd baseman trying to write Facebook ads code a website rather than play an Allstar 3rd base?
Let’s think numbers - if we can cut 40% of the things your aren’t great at out from your schedule, that means you have 40% more time to do what you’re great at. This gives more time to build a deeper client list, expand the practice offerings, be more involved in the community, which all in turn makes a healthier business.
Catch 22 right? We need all the marketing and advertising and software and business structure to have a healthy business all while not letting the business side get in the way of the business.
Oh, and did we mention our background is in business growth and operations for the most competitive industries in North America? We can help on all the areas which, frankly, you should not be doing.
This makes our partnership scalable.
Ideal Candidate
Hungry to own their own shop. Willing to be involved in the community. Tremendous healthcare provider.
Generally, there are two types of Chiropractors we're looking for:
- Advanced associates who may not need more healthcare training. Ideally 3-5 years experience under a head chiropractor.
- We are willing and able to train on the business side. We are not chiropractors, so we need someone who can build protocol, understand patient needs, and work hard to help the community on day one. Put simply, you'll need to be a self-sufficient chiropractor, but not a self-sufficient business owner.
- Current owners looking to expand into another location (or more)
- This might call for a different type of partnership, and we're okay with that. Reach out to us about multiple location care or differentiated practice opportunities.
Not everyone will fit into these two categories and we get that. If any of this is interesting to you, simply reach out. You're not wasting our time. We even enjoy connecting with chiropractors still in school. We always want to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs. If you're hungry and motivated to succeed in this space, we want to meet you.
